    A look into MedX Toronto's second annual conference

  • MedX Toronto November 2016 took place at the University of Toronto on November 26th. 140 Undergraduate students gathered to participate in a day's worth of talks, workshops, and the traditional, "Opportunities' Fair". MedX Toronto November 2016 also marked the inauguration of the Jigsaw MMI Workshop, where delegates were given the opportunity to put forth and present collaborative responses to real-life MMI questions.

  • MedX Toronto's 2016 March conference inaugurated at the University of Toronto, Medical Sciences Building on March 26th. With tickets selling out in less than 5 days, 130 attendees were given the opportunity to participate in 3 workshops, 3 keynote speakers, a panel of medical students, alongside an opportunities fair comprising of 10 booths including personalized Mock MMI Stations.

    Autumn is currently a Pathobiology Specialist at University of Toronto with a passion for healthcare and giving back to the community. She can often be seen volunteering in the community. She is really excited to be a part of the MedX team and to be able to work with a group of students to plan events for students, share opportunities and network.

    Being a strong advocate for youth involvement, Lulu looks to facilitate potential in students from all backgrounds and hopes to one day make modern medicine a basic right for all. Through Model United Nations, HOSA, and hosting countless conferences and events, Lulu finds her confidence through public speaking and helping others, while expanding her network through all of her passions. In her free time, Lulu can be found watching House, eating out, or planning out each hour of her life.

    Laura Kim

    Laura studied life sciences at Queen's University, and currently conducts research on children's health evaluation and health policy. Her motto in life is to experience as much as one possibly can. Her ultimate goal is to volunteer abroad, and contribute towards improving health care systems and health education in developing countries. Aside from studying science, she likes to read blogs about fashion and travel.

    Tasneem Islam

    Tasneem is a student at the University of Toronto, pursuing studies in Molecular Genetics & Microbiology and Health & Disease. She finds the Sciences to be fascinating, and the opportunity to apply it to be just as as exciting. She looks forward to a career where she'll be able to give from what knowledge she has. In her free time you can find her picking up catchy theme songs on the piano, swimming laps with friends, or eating persimmons.
